D.S. Brown Introduces Deckguard™ Spray-Applied Waterproofing System
NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The D.S. Brown Company, a leading worldwide bridge and highway products manufacturer, today announced the introduction of its new Deckguard™ Spray-Applied Waterproofing System for highway and rail bridge deck protection. Deckguard is an innovative seamless membrane that forms a durable barrier against water penetration and stray current on bridge decks. Deckguard provides longer lifecycle performance and is more easily installed than other bridge deck waterproofing products.
“For more than 120 years, D.S. Brown’s American-made products have addressed some of the most critical needs of infrastructure construction markets around the world”
Deckguard is a cost-effective thin coating that has been successfully tested to meet or surpass industry standards. Independent test results for this cold-applied 100% solids elastomeric material exceed DOT and AREMA standards and outperform all other systems, including methyl methacrylate (MMA), torch-applied, preformed sheet and hot mop products. Deckguard’s crack-bridging abilities have been independently tested to four times the ASTM cycle requirements and twice the requisite crack width, allowing for dynamic bridge deck movement.
“For more than 120 years, D.S. Brown’s American-made products have addressed some of the most critical needs of infrastructure construction markets around the world,” says Tom Lewis, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. “Deckguard’s tough coating has the widest application temperature range of all bridge deck waterproofing products. It can be installed in extreme climates exceeding 104ºF and as low as -20ºF. Deckguard also offers a higher maximum resistance to stray electrical current than other spray-applied membranes and is chemically resistant to road salt and oil products.”
Deckguard Spray-Applied Waterproofing System is produced under stringent quality control measures and thoroughly tested for maintained quality prior to shipping. D.S. Brown is the only manufacturer to provide the infrared spectrograph for each production batch, allowing for comparison with the test analysis from which the published physical properties are based. D.S. Brown also offers onsite Quality Assurance inspections during and periodically after each bridge application.
