ITT Exelis awarded largest OMNI VIII delivery order for image intensifier tubes
ROANOKE, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has been awarded a delivery order for 8,248 Gen 3 image intensifier (I2) tubes under the U.S. Army’s OMNI VIII program.

The largest order for I2 tubes to date under the program, the $11.1 million award is for MX-11769 image tubes used in the Army’s AN/PVS-14 night vision goggles. The U.S. Army’s Research, Development, Engineering Command Acquisition Center issued the order.

The Gen 3 image intensified night vision technology is the clearest and most advanced available. It provides the soldier with superior visibility and greater mobility in low-light conditions to ensure mission effectiveness.
