ITT Exelis Expands CRUX Power Systems; Will Display Full Product Line at the AUSA Winter Exposition in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has added power inverters to its CRUX product line. A leader in advanced power supplies for more than 35 years, the company has developed a suite of power products to compliment the 1000 amps of onboard power produced by the CRUX Generator, delivering an end-to-end power distribution solution to technology-laden military vehicles.
“As warfighters become equipped with more advanced electronics, a clean supply of power is necessary to operate them. The CRUX family of inverters is specifically designed for harsh conditions, with strong attention given to weight and size concerns within military vehicles; they supply critical power in the smallest possible package.”
The CRUX inverter family includes a 1.8Kw inverter-charger; a 2.4Kw ruggedized military inverter; with a 5Kw military inverter; and a 10Kw tactical vehicle inverter on the horizon. The rugged CRUX inverters are readily deployable worldwide, quickly providing the warfighter with dependable AC power for use as on-board vehicle power or as a stationary power source.
“Sufficient power delivery on the battlefield is a huge challenge facing our armed forces,” said Ron Gordon, general manager of the Power Solutions business area for ITT Exelis. “As warfighters become equipped with more advanced electronics, a clean supply of power is necessary to operate them. The CRUX family of inverters is specifically designed for harsh conditions, with strong attention given to weight and size concerns within military vehicles; they supply critical power in the smallest possible package.”
CRUX products will be on display at Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Winter exposition in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Feb. 21-23, 2012, in booth 3336 and installed on a Navistar Defense International® MaxxPro® Dash vehicle in booth 1141.
