DISCUS 5.2 Release Accelerates First Article Inspection Reporting
COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DISCUS Software Company, which specializes in software to accelerate manufacturing and quality engineering, announced multiple improvements to their FAI Suite in the release of DISCUS 5.2. The new release builds on the extensive DISCUS feature set for creating and managing First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports.
“Among many customer-requested improvements, we have developed a feature to support the inclusion of more formats for our CMM module, such as Faro Arm, Calypso and PC-DMIS. Many customers are already realizing the speed and efficiency of the CMM module with this enhanced format support.”
“There are several prominent enhancements with the 5.2 release,” said Bob Roush, DISCUS General Manager. "Among many customer-requested improvements, we have developed a feature to support the inclusion of more formats for our CMM module, such as Faro Arm, Calypso and PC-DMIS. Many customers are already realizing the speed and efficiency of the CMM module with this enhanced format support.”
Alejandra Ortega, CMM Programmer from Magellan Aerospace – Ellanef Mfg. Corp said “we are striving to eliminate the amount of time spent transferring PC-DMIS CMM Report results, onto the inspection reports as well as the FAI reports. DISCUS CMM is a great tool for this task, with the new CSV format in the DISCUS CMM module it will become less time consuming to achieve this goal. We look forward to working with DISCUS.”
The DISCUS 5.2 release also includes enhancements in areas such as more user customization and faster file management. For example:
- Re-Designed Open / Add / Save Dialog Windows - The DISCUS file dialogs now enable much faster loading of directories with a large number of files and folders, along with other standard features such as listing, searching, sorting and the ability to create new folders.
- Default Data Type for Characteristic Types – DISCUS now allows users to check an option to set their own default data type settings.
- Override Sheet Number – Users can manually override the assigned sheet number of annotated (ballooned) drawing pages in the exported PDF package.
