DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Frontier Airlines today announced the appointment of John Bendoraitis as chief operating officer of the Denver-based carrier.
“We are very excited to welcome Bendo aboard”
An experienced airline executive and operations professional, Bendoraitis brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the position. He served as president of Comair Airlines since 2008, where he led the reorganization of the airline’s cost structure – reducing operating expenses by $80 million over the last two years. As president of Compass Airlines from 2006 to 2008, he was responsible for the certification and launch of the airline. He began his aviation career at Northwest Airlines, where over a 22-year span he worked his way up from aircraft technician to vice president of base maintenance operations.
Bendoraitis holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Metro State University in St. Paul, Minn., and an MBA from St. Thomas University in Minneapolis. He also holds an A&P Certificate from Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology in St. Louis, Mo.
“We are very excited to welcome Bendo aboard,” said David Siegel, president and chief executive officer of Frontier. “He is clearly results-driven and has the proven ability to successfully meet operational and financial goals. We’re looking forward to putting him to work to help complete Frontier’s transformation to an ultra-low-cost carrier.”
