Telos ID Offers the First Aviation Channeling Service Certified Under New TSA Agreement
ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Telos Identity Management Solutions LLC (Telos® ID) has become the first designated aviation channeler (DAC) to be certified under the agreement announced by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) last year.
“The aviation industry has been looking forward to greater choice in channeling service providers”
Telos ID is one of three vendors selected under the agreement, which provides airports and airlines with greater choice in aviation channeling services. Telos ID’s DAC service is the first to receive authorization to operate (ATO) under the new TSA agreement.
Through DAC services, employee data is collected and submitted to TSA to conduct employee threat assessments necessary to work in an aviation environment. TSA requires assessments to be conducted for all airport and airline employees with access to the secure areas of an airport, including baggage workers, ground maintenance workers and restaurant and retail employees.
Telos ID’s DAC offering lets aviation-related employers more efficiently run their background check and badging operations. It meets TSA and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations for handling personally identifiable information, and as a Web-based solution, it allows users to securely access the system wherever they have an Internet connection. Telos ID also provides additional customer service options and more visibility and flexibility for its customers.
“The aviation industry has been looking forward to greater choice in channeling service providers,” said Mark Griffin, president of Telos ID. “A more competitive environment will lead to greater innovation in services and an increased focus on customer satisfaction. We’re eager to get started serving airports, airlines and their contractors across the country.”
