Turkish Airlines Selects PROS to Support Network and Revenue Growth
HOUSTON & ISTANBUL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PROS® (NYSE: PRO), a world leader in pricing and revenue management software, today announced that Turkish Airlines has begun implementing four PROS solutions to support its global expansion. After an exhaustive evaluation process, the Istanbul-based carrier selected the state-of-the art PROS Origin & Destination Solutions™ (O&D), PROS Real-Time Dynamic Pricing™ (RTDP), PROS Group System™ and PROS Group Agent™. The transaction was closed in December, 2011.
“As we expand our operations around the world, we sought a solutions provider that could accommodate our strategic growth requirements”
As a member of the Star Alliance, Turkish Airlines is one of the largest airlines in the world, flying to 189 destinations. Skytrax, a world-recognized brand associated with travel excellence, awarded the airline its 2011 “Best Airline in Europe” recognition.
“As we expand our operations around the world, we sought a solutions provider that could accommodate our strategic growth requirements,” said Turkish Airlines Chief Marketing Officer Faruk Çizmecioğlu. “As we add destinations and build connections, we require sophisticated technological products that can evaluate our entire network for the best available seat/price combinations. We conducted proof-of-concept testing, and PROS technologies worked well with our existing systems, which are required to fuel our global growth.”
“Turkish Airlines is a global carrier, and innovation with the latest revenue management technology is an important consideration,” said PROS Travel President Benson Yuen. “Our experience and knowledge are excellent complements to the airlines’ next-generation revenue management requirements. PROS technologies and solutions serve as strategic enablers that power airlines worldwide, and we appreciate the confidence and trust Turkish Airlines has placed in PROS.”
PROS O&D is a highly configurable system that provides significant incremental revenue benefits over leg/segment solutions. It is a true PNR (Passenger Name Record)-based forecasting and optimization solution that aligns revenue management objectives with other critical commercial operations of the airline.
