Attention Foodies, Fashionistas, Flyers and Fun-Seekers; American Express Adds New Ways to Use Membership Rewards® Points
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American Express today announced new and recently added partners to its industry-leading Membership Rewards program, including Seamless, Groupon, Virgin America and vente-privee USA. From dining in to adventuring out, Membership Rewards enrolled Cardmembers have even more fun and innovative ways to use the points they earn from everyday spend.
“We’re adding more value to the program by expanding the ways our Cardmembers can use the points they earn for the things they love.”
Through a new relationship with Seamless, a leading online food ordering service, American Express Cardmembers can redeem Membership Rewards points for pickup or delivery orders from more than 9,000 of their favorite local restaurants in 40 cities. Cardmembers redeem in 1,000 point increments for $10 e-certificates good for orders placed on Seamless.com or via Seamless’ mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry.
“As the worlds of online and offline spend converge, we’re finding new ways to use Membership Rewards points for everything from food and fashion to travel and adventure,” said Sonali Chakravorti, Vice President, Membership Benefits for American Express. “We’re adding more value to the program by expanding the ways our Cardmembers can use the points they earn for the things they love.”
Groupon joins the program, letting Cardmembers explore their city, whether by trying out a new restaurant or learning to scuba dive, using Membership Rewards points. Points are redeemed for gift cards and eGift cards to use towards the site’s daily online offers.
Cardmembers can also redeem points for eGift cards with vente-privee USA, a private online sales site, and enjoy access to top European and American designers at up to 70 percent off retail. The site launched in September, 2011, as a joint venture between American Express and venteprivee.com.
American Express also recently added several travel partners, including Virgin America, Choice Hotels International and Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, giving Cardmembers more choices to use Membership Rewards points towards flights and hotel stays.
There are also more places to redeem points to hit the slopes in Telluride, Sun Valley and Northstar California. Cardmembers convert points for lift tickets, lessons, rentals and lodging packages by visiting membershiprewards.com/ski.
Finally, the program has expanded its relationship with Dell, a long time gift card partner. In addition to using points for Dell gift cards, Cardmembers can now redeem for Dell electronic products and accessories directly through MembershipRewards.com.
