BAE Systems to Showcase Capabilities, Host Media Briefing at National Space Symposium
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BAE Systems will showcase a range of capabilities for space and military customers and host a media briefing on its 45-nanometer technology at the National Space Symposium, April 16-19 at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The company provides new technologies, operations support, and the sustainment of equipment and facilities for customers that include NASA, U.S. Air Force Space Command, and the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command.
Media representatives are invited to visit the BAE Systems booth (#405).
45-Nanometer Technology
BAE Systems will hold a media briefing that will include new information about the 45-nanometer technology and its application in the company’s next generation of processor and Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) space products. The product offering is based upon the recently announced intellectual property license from Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.
BAE Systems is leveraging this technology in combination with its radiation hardening skills to produce processing sub systems and ASICs that will meet the growing performance requirements of national satellite assets and sensor payloads for space. The new products developed from this technology will enable higher processing capability on orbit for communications, surveillance and tracking, planetary exploration, weather, and classified satellite missions to name a few.

Missile Warning & Space Surveillance
BAE Systems provides round-the-clock operations and maintenance for critical Air Force assets in support of missile warning and space surveillance missions. These assets include the Solid State Phased Array Radar System, the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System, and the Ground-Based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance System — all contracts with the 21st Space Command, based at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.
Radar Support
Since 1985, BAE Systems has been delivering a unique multiple-agency, multi-service and international program of logistics and technical support for more than 300 instrumentation radar systems for 25 test range customers worldwide. Field support representatives, supported by a central depot, provide various readiness and sustainment services to ensure these vitally important radars are available.
NASA Programs
BAE Systems has been providing radiation-hardened products and system solutions to the space community since the early 1980s. We are the leading manufacturer of radiation-qualified, space-level semiconductor devices. Also, our team of nationally recognized scientists and engineers support NASA in fields including metallurgy, biology, chemistry, geology, materials science, and nuclear and mechanical engineering.
