From Sweden non-stop to Iraq: Berlin-based airline Germania flies from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah – from €245
STOCKHOLM & BERLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Specialist for niche destinations continues to expand its network of routes in the Middle and Far East: as from May 2012, the Berlin-based airline Germania will be increasing the frequency of its flights from Sweden to Northern Iraq. The services from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah will be organised and marketed in cooperation with the tour operator Dokan Air. Previously, Germania had operated individual flights from Sweden to Northern Iraq.
Starting from 30 April 2012, the airline will be flying to Erbil once a week from Stockholm (Tuesday), Gothenburg (Monday) and Malmö (Saturday). The city of Erbil is a key trade show and conference location. Germania will be flying to Sulaymaniyah on Thursdays from Stockholm, Mondays from Gothenburg and Wednesdays from Malmö. Sulaymaniyah is an important centre of commerce and one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
Andreas Wobig, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Germania, said: “There is a strong demand from business travellers for direct flights to Northern Iraq. We very pleased that we will be flying more often from Sweden’s three largest airports direct to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. These scheduled flights are also highly appealing for citizens of Iraqi descent who live in Sweden and wish to visit family and friends in Iraq.”
In cooperation with the tour operator Dokan Air, Germania has been offering successful services from airports in Germany to Iraq since 2010, and presently flies from Munich and Düsseldorf to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. Due to the great demand, service frequency from Düsseldorf to Northern Iraq is due to be increased to two weekly services as from the end of April.
Prices for a single ticket from Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö to Northern Iraq start from €245 including taxes and fees. Tickets are available online at www.flygermania.de, by phone on +49 1805 737100 and from travel agencies.
