Frontier Airlines Announces Winner of New Animal Search
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It’s been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and it appears that Polly the Parrot may have used that exact tactic to win over the voting public. Frontier Airlines today announced that the wise-cracking parrot named Polly has been chosen as Frontier’s newest animal. Polly survived two rounds of public votes to take the coveted spot on a Frontier tail.
“It was a tight race all the way through but Polly came out ahead with 39 percent of the vote”
“It was a tight race all the way through but Polly came out ahead with 39 percent of the vote,” said Dan Krause, Frontier’s vice president of marketing and customer experience. “With nearly 65,000 unique votes cast throughout the campaign, it is clear the public feels strongly about which animal should join our current cast of characters and we look forward to integrating Polly into upcoming campaigns.”
The new animal search launched March 12, 2012, with 18 possible contenders. The public voted at FrontierAirlines.com and whittled the list down to three on April 9 – Chloe the chipmunk, Enrique the tree frog and Polly the Parrot. Voting on the final three ended Sunday, April 15. In the end, Polly came out the winner with 39 percent of the vote, Chloe followed close behind with 36 percent and Enrique received 25 percent of the votes.
