Signatec Announces New 14-bit High-Speed PCI Express Arbitrary Waveform Generator
LOCKPORT, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Signatec, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-speed data acquisition, parallel digital signal processing, continuous signal data recording and arbitrary waveform generation systems, today announced the release of its new 4-channel, 14-bit PXDAC4800A Waveform Generator.
“The PXDAC4800A is a nice complement to Signatec’s PX14400 and PX1500-4 waveform acquisition boards and is ideal for playing back extremely long waveforms, such as those previously captured with a Signatec Waveform Recording system”
The PXDAC4800A is an exceptionally high resolution four-channel digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) board that may be used as an arbitrary waveform generator, a waveform playback device, or for generating multiple communication frequency bands. Each DAC can output data at a maximum real rate of 1.2 Gigasamples per second (GSPS), which allows for up to 600 MHz of bandwidth for each output signal. Output waveforms may be “single shot” or “continuously looped” from the on-board 2 Gigabytes memory (1 GB per FPGA).
“The PXDAC4800A is a nice complement to Signatec’s PX14400 and PX1500-4 waveform acquisition boards and is ideal for playing back extremely long waveforms, such as those previously captured with a Signatec Waveform Recording system,” said Patrick Cassady, Executive Vice President of DynamicSignals LLC. “This is particularly useful in testing a system’s response to previously recorded real world signals, and enables a 14-bit multi-channel record and playback solution,” Cassady added.
The PXDAC4800’s DACs can also be provided with a continuous data stream via the PCI Express (PCIe) bus. The 1.4 Gigabytes per second (GB/s) PCIe bus rate provides up to 87 MHz of addressable bandwidth at full resolution for each of the four analog outputs.
Free software for creating, editing, and generating waveforms as well as a C/C++ Callable Function Library or API for custom development is included. For more information regarding the PXDAC4800A or Signatec’s high-speed signal generation products, please visit:
