Sparton Corporation today announced results for the first quarter of fiscal 2012 ended September 30, 2011. The Company reported first quarter sales of $51.8 million, or an increase of 13%, from $45.8 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2011. Reported net income for the first quarter of fiscal 2012 was $1.5 million or $0.15 per share, compared to net income of $4.2 million, or $0.41 per share, in the same quarter a year ago. After the adjustments which are described in the non-GAAP reconciliations included later in this press release, first quarter fiscal 2012 adjusted net income was $1.5 million, or $0.15 per share, compared to adjusted net income of $1.1 million, or $0.11 per share, in the prior year quarter.
