A recent survey by cheap flights specialists Skyscanner has revealed that 28% of travellers have ‘smuggled’ contraband liquids past airport security either accidentally, or in full knowledge that they are breaking the rules.

Rockwell Collins, Inc. today reported fourth quarter fiscal year 2011 net income of $175 million, an increase of $25 million, or 17%, from $150 million in the same period last year. Earnings per share for the quarter were $1.13, an increase of $0.19, or 20%, from earnings per share of $0.94 in the fourth quarter of 2010. Earnings per share and net income for the fourth quarter of 2011 include an $0.11, or $17 million gain ($27 million before income taxes) from the divestiture of the Rollmet business and an offsetting restructuring charge of $0.11, or $17 million ($27 million before income taxes).

Barnes Group Inc. , a diversified global manufacturer and logistical services company, today reported financial results for the third quarter 2011. Net sales grew 12 percent to $325.4 million, up from $289.9 million in the third quarter of 2010. Excluding the favorable impact of foreign exchange, net sales were up 10 percent. Net income for the third quarter grew 54 percent to $23.2 million, or $0.41 per diluted share, from $15.1 million, or $0.27 per diluted share, a year earlier.
