Traffic figures at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) continued the pattern of recovery seen in previous months. Meanwhile, nearly all traffic categories are registering growth again. Well over 3.8 million passengers recorded at FRA, represent a 2.3 percent rise on December 2008. Fraport executive board chairman Dr. Stefan Schulte said with satisfaction: "Despite adverse weather conditions, this has been the first increase in passenger figures at our Frankfurt home base since May 2008. Thus, we have finally emerged from the trough of recession in the air transportation business."

TAM signed agreements with Sabre and is negotiating with Amadeus and Travelport to make its entire content (rates and inventory) in the Brazilian market available through the Global Distribution Systems (GDS) operated by the three companies. With these new partnerships, the airline expands the options available to travel agents and corporate customers in order to issue tickets within Brazil. The expectation is that TAM'S full content shall be available in the three GDSs by the end of the first half of 2010.

TAM and TRIP Linhas Aereas will expand the codeshare agreement signed between the two companies starting January 11. With it, TAM is able to sell flights operated by TRIP, under the code JJ*, to the cities Bonito (MS), via Campo Grande (MS) and Lencois (BA) and Petrolina (PE), via Salvador (SA). The two companies currently maintain a codeshare agreement for the operation of flights to 39 destinations within Brazil.
