Breeze-Eastern Corporation today reported that net income for the 2010 fiscal first quarter was $358 thousand versus $765 thousand in the same prior year period, a decrease of 53% or $.04 per diluted share compared to $.08 in the same period last year. Operating income for the first quarter of fiscal 2010 decreased 43% to $1.0 million from $1.8 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2009. Sales of $13.4 million in the first fiscal quarter of 2010 represented a decrease of 4% compared to the $14.0 million in the same period in the prior year. Adjusted EBITDA, as described under “Non-GAAP Financial Measures” in this press release, for the first quarter of fiscal 2010 decreased 34% to $1.4 million from $2.1 million in the same prior year period. New orders received during the 2010 fiscal first quarter were $15.6 million compared to $23.0 million in the 2009 fiscal first quarter. The Company’s book-to-bill ratio for the fiscal 2010 first quarter was 1.2 compared with 1.6 for last year’s fiscal first quarter.
