Agility Combines Operations in Houston under One Roof
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Agility, one of the leading global providers of integrated logistics solutions, is relocating its Houston offices and warehouses to a larger and more efficient facility strategically located near the Houston Intercontinental Airport.
The new office, which sits on over 20 acres, will house nearly 300 employees and provides the opportunity to combine multiple Agility operations into one location.
“Consolidating our operations provides opportunities to create efficiencies and enhance customer service. Our Houston unification will provide us with the right platform to effectively manage our business through the current cycle, and facilitate growth in the coming years,” said Thomas J. Griffin, President & CEO, Agility Project Logistics.
The new state-of-the-art facility features 50,000 square feet of office space, over 200,000 square feet of warehouse space, and a larger secure cargo area. The new branch also features environmentally sustainable features such as natural lighting, electric forklifts, power saving electrical systems, and the gradual replacement of existing vehicles, which will reduce emissions and save fuel. All combined, the new location provides a 25 percent increase in total warehouse space compared to what the individual warehouses previously supplied while also offering significant cost reductions and improved customer service.
In 2005, Agility announced the purchase of Transoceanic Shipping Company, Inc., and in 2007 acquired WTS of Houston, Inc. These groups along with Geo-Logistics Houston form the core of Agility Project Logistics, whose current logistics service packages include project, oil & gas, mining, heavy haul sea/air charter, customs brokerage, NVOCC services, as well as Internet tracking and global integrated supply chain solutions. “Our combined strengths in Houston will enable Agility to deliver the full spectrum of Global Integrated Logistics services to our expanding client base,” said Mike Bible, CEO of Agility Logistics Americas.
