Cytec Engineered Materials Receives Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award
TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cytec Engineered Materials, a division of Cytec Industries (NYSE:CYT), today announced that its Orange, Calif. and Greenville, Texas sites have received the 2008 Boeing Performance Excellence Award. The Boeing Company issues these awards annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance. Cytec’s Orange and Greenville sites maintained a Silver performance composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period, from Oct. 1, 2007, to Sept. 30, 2008. This is the second year that the Orange site has received this award and a first time recognition for the Greenville site.
This year, Boeing recognized 411 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award. Cytec Engineered Materials is among 325 suppliers to receive the Silver level of recognition.
“Cytec is honored to receive this award,” said Barry Penney, vice president of operations for Cytec Engineered Materials. “Being recognized as part of this elite group shows that our advanced material solutions anticipate our customers’ time, performance and quality requirements. The fact that both our Orange and Greenville sites have been selected this year underscores our focus and dedication to helping our customers and their customers become successful in all their applications.”
Cytec’s Orange site supplies commercial prepregs to Boeing for aircraft interior and secondary structure applications. The Greenville site supplies secondary structural prepreg materials for Boeing legacy aircraft such as 777 and 737 and for key growth programs including 787 and 747-8.
