Active On-Demand Announces APT Version 3.0
BELLEVILLE, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Active On-Demand has released APT Version 3.0, the transportation industry’s leading Transportation Management System (TMS) for unscheduled shipments. Deployed to its growing customer base as a Software as a Service (SaaS) product offering, APT 3.0’s business-to-business messaging capabilities were significantly enhanced with this release. Many of the new features within APT 3.0 have been enabled via a partnership between Active On-Demand and Inovis, a leading provider of Business Community Management (BCM) solutions that empower companies to transact, collaborate, and optimize business communications.
“We are very pleased with the fruits of our partnership with Inovis,” stated Chris Healy, Chief Executive Officer of Active Aero Group, Active On-Demand’s parent company. “The rapid integration with Inovis products truly enhances APT’s multi-mode transportation management feature set and stands as a testimonial to Inovis’ software engineering talent.”
APT, first released in 2007, is now in its third year as a SaaS product. APT is an Internet-based transportation management system that saves customers 20-45% in unscheduled transportation costs. APT 3.0 now provides enhanced business-to-business (B2B) messaging support. Because it is now more tightly integrated with customer and carrier systems, APT 3.0 delivers increased transportation visibility and additional cost reductions to Active On-Demand’s customers and transportation providers.
“Active On-Demand is the kind of innovative company that we seek when looking for business partners," said Jon Gatrell, VP Product Marketing of Inovis. He added, “Automating the invoice process and shipment visibility is a win-win for Active On-Demand and their customers.”
A prime example where this systems integration delivers customer benefits is APT 3.0’s new ability to transmit Shipment Status information with its customer base. For Active On-Demand's customer base, their supply chain personnel will no longer have to look up shipments within APT to obtain a status. Now customers’ personnel can view Active On-Demand’s shipments within their own transportation management systems, achieving significant labor savings in addition to increasing information accuracy.
