Agility Los Angeles Branch Finds New Home
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Agility, one of the world’s leading providers of integrated logistics and supply chain solutions, is moving to a new facility located in the city of Carson, which is strategically positioned between the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the twin ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
The short move--only six miles away from the current Torrance location--provides Agility with a new, state-of-the-art facility that will house nearly 100 employees, combining both freight forwarding and 3PL operations into one convenient location.
“In today’s economic climate, increasing efficiency and reducing overhead costs are vital from a business perspective,” said Paul Van Ness, Area West Vice President, Agility Americas. “The new space allows us to grow our operations by offering cost-effective solutions to our customers and those within the Agility network. This location is operationally better due to its layout, which will put us in a more competitive position.”
The building features 11,000 sq. ft. of office space and over 100,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space. Other components include: security cages for high-value cargo; bonded container freight station to handle imports prior to US Customs clearances; operational screening facility to inspect certified cargo; access-controlled truck and container yard with a capacity of +100 FEUs; security and surveillance system to monitor interior and exterior premises; and air freight ULD handling equipment to ensure the safety of cargo and staff members. The facility is also equipped to handle a capacity of 8,000 pallet positions, and will operate cost-efficient and environmentally friendly equipment. The facility is designed to maximize natural light, the warehouse will use only electric equipment, and the design means less work in moving cargo around the facility.
The new facility is located at 21906 Arnold Center Road, Carson, CA 90810.
