Basic Solutions Secures World Exclusivity in 3rd Generation Run-Way De-Icer Deal
Dépèche transmise le 8 mai 2009 par PRNewswire
TORONTO, May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Toronto based Basic Solutions North America Corp. (BSNA), today announces a world-wide deal with leading technology innovator Battelle, which will see it gain exclusive rights to Battelle's 3rd generation runway de-icing technology.
The licensing agreement will establish BSNA as the sole global provider of the revolutionary Basics Gen 3 product which is set to lead the way in a new generation of deicing solutions, by solving several major hurdles currently faced by the aviation industry.
The new formulation which conforms to SAEAMS1435A AVIATION certification, drastically outperforms previous generation 2 de-icers by reducing carbon brake decay and wiring oxidation, whilst at the same time offering a cost effective, non-toxic and biodegradable solution. Furthermore the formula which combines polyols with a variety of organic salts and bio-based additives, does not have any glycols in its make-up ensuring friction improvements are maximized on active runways and taxiways.
"Our cost effective Gen3 runway de-icers will significantly improve airline costs and safety associated with early brake replacement and cadmium from wire bundle corrosion. Improving operational safety at airports and airline efficiency is integral for the global runway deicing industry and positions Basic Solutions as undisputed leader in this large market," said Kelvin Williamson, Director, Basic Solutions North America Corp.
Trials for the revolutionary new product began in January 2009 when BSNA submitted its first pilot batch to the SMI independent lab in Florida, who subsequently confirmed the company's capability to reproduce the new product. Having passed the required AMS 1435 standards the first production batch was made at Future Transfers facility in Aylmer, Ontario. Toronto Lester B Pearson airport has since conducted positive comparison testing and BSNA will seek to commence contract selling in the 2009-2010 winter season.
The licensing agreement cements BSNA's position as the market leader in run way de-icers and as a pioneer in the formulation of bio degradable, ecologically sound products which do not compromise on performance. In addition BSNA is also keen to address the limited availability for the current generation of deicing products, whilst at the same time protecting airports from excessive fluctuations in raw material prices as created by this year's mining strike in Canada.
