Formula 1 Chooses Atlas Air To Transport The World’s Most Technologically Advanced Race Cars
Dépèche transmise le 19 mai 2009 par Business Wire
PURCHASE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atlas Air, Inc. has recently completed successful cargo charters for F1, the preeminent global motorsport championship, in support of the Australian, Malaysian, Chinese, and Bahrain Grand Prix.
“Formula 1 is an unmatched championship series, where skill, technology, and dedication are put to the ultimate test. Atlas Air is proud to have been chosen again to transport teams, cars, and support equipment for F1’s global events,” said William J. Flynn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Air’s parent, Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAWW).
Atlas Air’s highly efficient and reliable Boeing 747-400 freighter fleet is the industry benchmark for operating performance due to its cost and capacity advantage over other freighters. Atlas Air is the world’s only 747-400F ACMI provider. Designed as a freighter, not adapted for cargo, the 747-400F’s nose-loading door and advanced cargo-management system allow for the quick and efficient handling of oversized and extremely valuable loads.
And to even further Atlas’ technological advantage for its customers, Atlas Air is also the only ACMI provider to have ordered the next-generation Boeing 747-8 freighter -- a game-changing aircraft that is expected to provide significantly greater payloads, less fuel burn, and a lower noise footprint.
