Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc. Receives $20 Million Order from TSA
BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc., a developer of industry-leading threat detection solutions, announced today that it has received a $20 million delivery order from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for its CT-80 DR, a next generation Explosives Detection System (EDS) that is far smaller and less expensive than any other EDS on the market.
“We’ve worked closely with TSA over the years to create innovative solutions to real world problems,” said Michael Ellenbogen, president and CEO, Reveal. “That requires us to really listen to our customers and understand their needs, then push the envelope to deliver. This order recognizes the continued value we bring to our customers.”
Reveal was a recipient of Frost & Sullivan’s 2008 Award for Customer Value Enhancement in the U.S. Airport Screening Market. The Frost & Sullivan report stated that “the success of Reveal Imaging’s strategy is due in part to the innovation of its products. The core design elements of Reveal’s products are low false alarms, high throughput, enhanced imaging/detection, and small footprint. The first three elements are important from a security and operational standpoint. The small footprint of Reveal’s system has been a major factor in allowing the company to carve out its niche in smaller airports. The systems are not only smaller in terms of dimensions but lighter as well which allows installation without construction and fortification required for larger systems, drastically reducing cost.”
“With the CT-80DR, we are uniquely positioned in the market,” said Ellenbogen. “Close collaboration with our customers has resulted in more efficient, secure and affordable EDS, and that translates into safer air travel for the flying public.”
