Goodrich Presents Operational Excellence Award to Etihad Airways at Paris Air Show
PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leaders from Goodrich Corporation’s (NYSE:GR) Aircraft Wheels and Brakes business presented a “777-300ER Operational Excellence Award” to Etihad Airways today at a ceremony held at the Goodrich pavilion during the Paris Air Show. The award recognized the superior brake life Etihad has achieved using the Goodrich DURACARB™ carbon brake on its fleet of 777-300ER aircraft. Etihad achieves one of the highest average 777-300ER brake life levels in the world.
Jim Wharton, vice president, Commercial Aircraft Wheels and Brakes, presented the award to Captain Hisham Yusof of Etihad Airways. Wharton said, “Achievement of one of the highest average landings per overhaul on the 777-300ER aircraft is the result of great teamwork between Goodrich and Etihad. We have leveraged a thorough understanding of the factors affecting carbon brake life to reduce airline operating cost and Etihad has optimized the operational factors to maximize the brake performance on its aircraft. This award reflects both Etihad’s operational excellence and the quality and durability of the Goodrich DURACARB carbon material.”
Captain Richard Hill, Etihad Airways’ chief operations officer, said, “Etihad Airways places safety as its number one priority. We also share with Goodrich a commitment to operational excellence. We are pleased to work closely with Goodrich and continue to improve efficiency while reducing operational costs.”
Goodrich is exhibiting its latest technology, including an electric brake, at its Paris Air Show pavilion located at Static Display B337, between the press centre and the Ariane rocket.
