Norfolk Airport, ACS and MasterCard Worldwide Introduce Contactless Payments to Airport Parking
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE: ACS) and Norfolk Airport today announced that the airport is now accepting MasterCard®PayPass™ contactless payments in its major parking lots. The Norfolk International Airport PayPass implementation is being managed by ACS, an industry leader in airport parking systems.
“This enhancement to parking at Norfolk Airport is driven by the ability of MasterCard PayPass to make payments more convenient for customers by helping them move through lines more quickly and easily,” said Cathleen Conforti, senior vice president, Global PayPass, MasterCard Worldwide. “ACS is an innovative and proven provider of best-in-class technology solutions, and an ideal partner for MasterCard to improve the experience for busy airport travelers.”
MasterCard PayPass is a fast, cashless payment option that enables drivers to pay for parking simply by tapping their PayPass-enabled MasterCard card or device on a PayPass reader. ACS’ airport revenue control solutions will continue to accept traditional magnetic-stripe payment cards and work with all payment card providers.
“After long flights, passengers are eager to get to their final destinations,” said Wayne E. Shank, deputy executive director of Norfolk International Airport. “Accepting MasterCard PayPass at our airport parking exit lanes helps them do so by providing a payment option that promises greater speed and convenience.”
PayPass is accepted in 10 exit lanes serving over 7,200 parking spaces at the Norfolk International Airport.
“This demonstrates our focus to simplify our customers’ lives by providing innovative alternatives. MasterCard PayPass implementation provides even more value for the airports we serve as the nationwide leader in large airport parking systems,” said Dave Amoriell, executive vice president and president of ACS Transportation Solutions. “Airport parking is an ideal setting for contactless payments because this technology streamlines a sometimes time-consuming activity for clients who frequently do not have time to spare.”
ACS offers a wide range of transportation solutions, including airport parking (more than 20 installations at the nation’s busiest airports), public transit agency, toll collection agency and car park operator solutions that rationalize and automate revenue collection. A high service level optimizes revenue intake, while user-friendly tools enhance the customer experience. ACS solutions can be seamlessly integrated into existing environments and are geared for the requirements of the future. At ACS, transport infrastructure operators can find a complete range of products and systems for fare collection, parking and toll collection. The “one-stop shopping” principle enhances tailored solutions and long-term investment protection.
