Primary Freight Named One of the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles for 2009
RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Primary Freight Services, Inc., a global shipping and logistics firm with locations in Los Angeles, Chicago and New Jersey, (www.primaryfreight.com) was named one of the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles for 2009. The annual list of the “Best Places to Work in Los Angeles” was created by the Los Angeles Business Journal, the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) and Best Companies Group. The program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Los Angeles County, benefiting the region’s economy, its workforce and businesses.
Primary Freight has for a decade set a standard for both customer and employee support. The organization is known for its workplace culture, teambuilding events and clear communication style with both staff and customers.
The Best Companies Group assessed Primary Freight through a two-part process in which the employer was asked to complete a questionnaire and employees completed surveys. The employee surveys were analyzed and categorized according to eight core focus areas: leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall engagement.
“It is a wonderful feeling to know that Primary Freight is one of the best places to work in Los Angeles,” said Primary Freight CEO John Brown. “To hear that your employees are happy is so satisfying, especially because as a service-oriented company, our employees are the key to our success. Maintaining a productive, comfortable and enjoyable work environment is definitely something that we strive for every day.”
Primary Freight provides import and export logistics services in ocean and air freight to and from the USA.
The rankings of the 67 Best Places to Work in Los Angeles will be unveiled at an awards luncheon on August 5th at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Business Journal will publish a special issue profiling the companies in August 2009.
