Republic Airways Reports May 2009 Traffic
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Republic Airways Holdings (NASDAQ:RJET), today reported preliminary passenger traffic results for May 2009. The company generated 851.0 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs), a 5.2% decrease from the same month last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) dropped 4.0% to 1.12 billion. Block hours were 58,467 in May 2009, a 10.3% decline from May 2008. Load factor was 75.8 versus 76.8% in May 2008. Approximately 1.7 million passengers were carried during the month, a 1.4% decrease from the same month last year.

Republic Airways Holdings, based in Indianapolis, Indiana is an airline holding company that owns Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America. The airlines offer scheduled passenger service on approximately 1,200 flights daily to 101 cities in 37 states, Canada and Mexico through airline services agreements with seven U.S. airlines. All of the airlines’ flights are operated under their airline partner brand, such as AmericanConnection, Continental Express, Delta Connection, United Express, Midwest Connect, Mokulele Airlines and US Airways Express.
