U.S. Navy Achieves Significant Savings With MCA Solutions’ Software
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The U.S. Navy’s Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) has successfully implemented MCA Solutions’ spare parts inventory optimization software application to determine the optimal aviation inventory levels at their retail locations. MCA’s advanced functionality and high quality personnel help the Navy save more than $70M per year in reduced inventory investments. MCA is a subcontractor to CACI Inc. – Federal in this effort.
“MCA is honored to be a part of the U.S. Navy and the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s initiative to implement Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) software applications in order to increase productivity, reduce costs and better serve the warfighter,” said Bob Salvucci, president and CEO of MCA Solutions.
As an integral part of the Navy’s Readiness Suite (RS), MCA’s software is currently integrated with legacy applications. The RS, which includes MCA’s software, is expected to be integrated with the Navy’s SAP ERP project, scheduled to be completed in February 2010.
CACI’s integration of MCA Solutions’ software into the RS enables the Navy to move forward with a COTS RBS solution prior to the full ERP integration. The RS, developed and maintained by CACI, provides a single interface to Navy ERP for all RBS-related production and analysis in support of Naval weapon systems. The RS, combined with MCA’s software, allows the customer to conduct trade-off analysis, tactical planning, phased budget reporting and service inventory optimization. This innovative combination of technologies improves readiness focus and enhances analysis capabilities while reducing retail spares requirements.
The next phase of the project will expand the use of MCA’s software in the Navy’s wholesale locations, including maritime and base operating stock inventory, completing the Navy’s objective to have a single inventory planning solution for all inventory, across all locations.
