Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary Traffic for June 2009
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: FRNTQ) today announced preliminary traffic results for June 2009 for both Frontier’s mainline operation and its wholly owned subsidiary, Lynx Aviation.
Mainline Results for June 2009:
- Revenue passenger miles decreased 13.1 percent to 804,407,000 and capacity (as measured by available seat miles) was down 14.9 percent to 903,816,000 from the same period last year. This resulted in a record load factor of 89.0 percent, an increase of 1.8 points from June 2008.
- The airline carried 894,991 passengers, a 10.7 percent decrease from the same period last year.
- The airline’s average length of haul decreased 2.7 percent to 899 miles.
Lynx Aviation Results for June 2009:
- Revenue passenger miles increased 7.1 percent to 35,660,000 and capacity was up 6.0 percent to 51,692,000. This resulted in a record load factor for June 2009 of 69.0 percent, an increase of 0.7 points over June 2008.
- Lynx carried 107,284 passengers, a 10.7 percent increase from June 2008.
- The airline’s average length of haul decreased 3.5 percent to 332 miles.
Frontier estimates that mainline passenger unit revenue decreased year over year by 14 to 16 percent in the month of June 2009.
