Goodrich Receives Cogswell Award from Defense Security Service
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Goodrich Corporation’s (NYSE:GR) ISR Systems business in Danbury, Conn. received the 2009 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award from the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Security Service (DSS). The award represents DSS’ highest honor afforded to government contractors. Defense contractors are selected for outstanding achievement in matters related to the protection of sensitive information, with only 14 facilities selected out of 12,500 sites surveyed in the past year.
Andreas Nonnenmacher, vice president for Goodrich ISR Systems in Danbury, said, “We are honored to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to excellence in our partnership with Defense Security Services in protecting the nation’s vital information, and I commend our team for their diligence in this important endeavor.”
The Cogswell Award is named in honor of the late U.S. Air Force Col. James S. Cogswell, who developed the basic principles of the Industrial Security Program (ISP). The award criteria includes establishment and maintenance of a security program that far exceeds the basic ISP program, demonstration of a sustained degree of excellence and innovation in overall security program management, and leadership through the use of best practices to other cleared facilities.
