OnAsset Announces Agreement with Qualcomm to Enable M2M Applications for Intelligent Asset Management

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OnAsset Intelligence Inc., a leading provider of wireless asset tracking, sensing, and control solutions, and manufacturer of the SENTRY™ telemetry device and the OnAsset Platform™ announced today that Qualcomm is providing managed network services for OnAsset solutions. OnAsset enables M2M devices, connectivity, and software management services for small, mid-sized, and Fortune 500 companies with operations all over the world.

“We chose to work with Qualcomm’s Global Smart Services group because of their strong international carrier relationships, reliable network infrastructure, and ability to scale quickly as our device deployments continue to rise,” said Adam Crossno, president and CEO of OnAsset. “Working with Qualcomm, we are excited to further our customers’ connectivity options with global services for GPRS and satellite networks.”

OnAsset specializes in ruggedized, end-to-end, intelligent asset management solutions that enable 24 x 7 visibility to fixed and mobile assets in industries that have operations managing thousands of industrial containers, rail cars, and high-value package shipments. OnAsset also manufactures SENTRY FlightSafe™, the first commercially available wireless device with multiple built-in, redundant detection modes enabling the unit to intelligently and autonomously power down its cellular radio when onboard a commercial aircraft.

“Qualcomm is pleased to be providing managed network services for OnAsset’s SENTRY,” said Steve Pazol, vice president of Global Smart Services for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. “OnAsset has brought smart, innovative solutions like FlightSafe to market, helping companies to track shipments using a single device all over the world, whether on land or in the air. We look forward to enabling more of their applications.”

The SENTRY hardware platform is an intelligent telemetry device that enables all connectivity options using a plug n’ play format to support GSM / GPRS, CDMA, two-way satellite, WiFi, and mesh networks. The unit has been successfully deployed by companies managing assets all over the world including South America, Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and the United States. Customers manage active units via the OnAsset Platform which is the only commercially available, web-based application service providing data layer access to the Intelligent Road and Rail Information System (IRRIS) used by the U.S. Government.

The OnAsset Platform and SENTRY device will be on display during the Technology Fair held during the 5th annual Smart Services Leadership Summit hosted by Qualcomm.

“OnAsset is thrilled to be attending the exclusive Qualcomm Smart Services Leadership Summit at the end of July,” said Crossno. “We are happy to be a part of this initiative and strongly support the importance of leaders coming together to discuss M2M and Smart Services across many different industries.”
