AirPlus Releases Survey Highlighting the Current Industry Emphasis on Meeting Spend
ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AirPlus International, a global provider of corporate travel payment solutions, releases The Wire…from AirPlus August 2009 edition titled: Tackling Meetings Spend. The survey found that travel managers are getting involved as economic woes push corporations to improve meetings visibility. In fact, meetings are on the radar with 52% of the corporate travel professionals surveyed as “very involved” or “involved” in the planning and sourcing meetings, and another 33% stating they assist in the process. Another question posed was whether a current meeting policy existed and 58% of respondents stated they have a policy, but that number is halved by those that enforce it. “With the survey showing that 85% of travel managers are already in the mix of managing meetings, the synergies that exist by combining elements of travel and meetings pose a tremendous opportunity for savings. Like travel policies, however, meeting policies often must be enforced to work at their optimal levels,” said Richard Crum, President of AirPlus International, Inc.
The Wire…from AirPlus is a monthly report on the pulse of the industry and its relevant topics. Results of this edition are based on a survey of 148 travel management professionals in North America and Europe in July 2009.
