Crossbow Technology Introduces Next Generation MEMS Inertial Systems with 3 deg/hr Stability
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Crossbow Technology, Inc., the leading developer of MEMS and FOG-based Inertial Systems, today announced its new 800-series high-performance family of products incorporating next generation MEMS sensors that combine 3 deg/hr FOG-like performance with the high-reliability of MEMS.
The IMU800 (inertial measurement unit) and VG800 (vertical gyroscope) models are both available as standard commercial products. The VG800 is also offered in a mil-qualified configuration (MA) designed specifically for use in UAV flight control, platform stabilization, land vehicle navigation and military helicopter avionics systems. The VG800MA meets the requirements for operation in MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 environments, and delivers high reliability with an estimated MTBF of > 20,000 hours.
“Our new 800-series products are creating exciting opportunities for military system developers,” said Mike Horton, President/CEO, Crossbow Technology. “Customers no longer have to compromise between the high performance of FOG and the high reliability of MEMS. The 800-series offers the best of both technologies in one cost-effective solution, and each model is backwards compatibility with Crossbow’s 700-series FOG-based products.”
