US Testing Equipment Purchases GE Security’s Itemiser DX for Deployment at Air Cargo Facilities
NEWARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GE Security, Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions (NYSE:GE), today announced its initial order of 15 Itemiser® DX units from US Testing Equipment, Ltd., one of GE Security’s authorized distributors for sales of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) approved Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) systems for air cargo screening. The Itemiser DX can simultaneously analyze from a single sample both positive and negative ions, providing the ultimate explosive contraband detection of complex explosive substances.
A lightweight, versatile, user-friendly unit with a one-hour battery, the Itemiser DX is engineered with a built in handle for hassle-free transportation. US Testing Equipment will offer Itemiser DX as part of its work with air cargo facilities to help them meet government mandates for trace detection units. The Itemiser DX meets the requirements of the TSA’s Certified Cargo Screening Program.
“US Testing provides solutions for our customers, and we have found that the GE Itemiser DX Trace Detection unit has become the solution of choice,” said Reese Carpenter, chief operating officer, US Testing. “As a project launch specialist in the airline/air cargo arena and working with one of the largest and most innovative DHS equipment manufacturers in GE Security, US Testing provides an ideal product interface. We are extremely proud to be considered a leader in screening equipment product supply and grateful to be at the forefront of associated training implementation and support.”
“The Itemiser DX’s next-generation technology allows air cargo and aviation operators to identify explosive substances quickly and accurately,” said Neil Bloomfield, general manager, Americas Aviation, GE Security. “US Testing Equipment is in a prime position to help air cargo facilities benefit from Itemiser DX thanks to their in-depth knowledge of air cargo mandates and facilities’ needs.”
The Itemiser DX is the seventh GE Security unit to be certified by the TSA. Others include the Itemiser2, VaporTracer2, CTX 2500, CTX 5500 DS, CTX 9000 DSi, CTX 9400 DSi and the recently certified CTX 9800 DSi.
