Datalex’s Travel Distribution Platform Drives Growth Online for Philippine Airlines
DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Philippine Airlines enable online reservations for an additional 6.6 million BancNet cardholders driving further online growth on www.philippineairlines.com using the Datalex Travel Distribution Platform.
A first for airlines in the Philippines, the new BancNet online payment facility is one of multiple global payment service providers and payment methods supported via the Travel Distribution Platform.
Currently BancNet ATM cards are accepted on www.philippineairlines.com for domestic itineraries. With the introduction of the BancNet payment facility, Philippine Airlines anticipates further increased growth in domestic bookings.

In the last year, PAL have grown their online business by over 300% and continue to partner with Datalex to deliver new and extensive shopping and reservations functionality to support business growth.
Commenting on the deployment, Cormac Whelan, Datalex CEO said: “Datalex has worked closely with Philippine Airlines for a number of years, helping PAL to develop its booking and reservation management functionality and providing improved efficiencies and return on investment for the airline, while providing an easier, quicker and more user-friendly booking process for PAL’s customers.” He continued: “The implementation of the BancNet ATM payment option is another example of the type of features that Datalex has delivered to help PAL achieve these goals. Datalex looks forward to continuing its work with PAL to further help the airline grow its business and to proactively adapt to a very challenging environment.”
