Return of the Big Spenders Say DialAFlight
Dépèche transmise le 29 septembre 2009 par Business Wire
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DialAFlight have announced an increase in bookings for business class seats. It’s the first time in 12 months that exclusive fares have seen an upturn in fortune.
The recession and resultant price-slashing from airlines has seen the price of Business Class seats plummet in recent months. BA is offering return business class tickets to New York from £1,099 and to Hong Kong from £1,999. With the full fares in economy class standing at £1,034 and £1,074 respectively it’s easy to see why passengers who would ordinarily be flying economy are treating themselves to a bit of luxury.
A DialAFlight spokesperson had this to say: “While many of our clients were trading down from Business and First Class earlier this year we have seen a definite upturn since the early part of July. It's too early to tell whether this is actually a green shoot or a false dawn because there have been some amazing business class deals around. But it does seem to mirror the recent signs of improvement in the economy.”
Summer is traditionally a time when business executives stop jet setting across the globe, leaving many business class seats to fill. Combined with trying times for the economy, airlines have been cutting fares to an extraordinary degree, which could help explain the increase in business class bookings.
