EMS Sky Connect Unveils Forte AirMail Communication Service at NBAA
TAKOMA PARK, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Owners and pilots of business aircraft who want unfettered access to e-mail via their BlackBerry® smartphones, iPhones and other handheld devices will want to check out demonstrations of the Forté™ AirMail™ service, the newest offering from EMS Sky Connect, during the National Business Aircraft Association convention next week. Company representatives will publicly unveil and demonstrate for the first time how the Forté AirMail service uses the Iridium network to reliably provide e-mail access to any WiFi-enabled smartphone or PDA in Exhibit 4489. EMS Sky Connect is a division of EMS Technologies, Inc.
“There’s no reason to leave behind the normal modes of wireless connectivity just because you are in an airplane,” said Wiley Loughran, EMS Sky Connect’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “The ability to stay connected is integral to doing business, and the Forté AirMail capability gives you the option to maintain e-mail capability in the air.”
The addition of e-mail complements EMS Sky Connect’s existing Forté products for voice and text, providing a complete office suite in the sky, Loughran said. The Forté AirMail suite is competitively priced at $25,995, including WiFi interface, Iridium transceiver, and antenna.
“Providing affordable in-air e-mail is one more way we can help our customers succeed,” Loughran said. “That is especially true now, during challenging economic times.” The Forté AirMail product has been submitted for addition to the STC granted in early 2009 for the Forté telephone system.
EMS Sky Connect has more than 4,500 Iridium-based communication systems flying worldwide.
