Omnivex Highlights Innovative Airport Digital Signage Solutions at ACI Conference
CONCORD, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As the airport industry expands the use of digital signage, Omnivex Corporation is helping airports rethink the role of these screens to improve wayfinding, advertising, and operational efficiency. Omnivex software is used by airports around the world to aid facility navigation, improve Customs and Immigration procedures, display targeted messages in multiple languages and inform and entertain passengers. Omnivex Corporation, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and provider of enterprise-level software for digital signage networks, will demonstrate its award-winning software at the Airports Council International conference in Austin, TX, October 11 - 14.
Visual communications play a vital role in helping to inform and move people seamlessly throughout all types of transportation environments. Omnivex has been a leader in software development for the management of digital signage networks since 1991. Omnivex software has been installed at many airports, including Vancouver International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Kuwait International Airport, Mexico City International Airport, Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and Vienna International Airport.
Omnivex software is used to create and manage all types of digital content shown in airports on a multitude of electronic displays including LCD, plasma and LED boards. Airports use digital signage as a way to display dynamic, real time content such as flight, gate and baggage information, menu boards, wayfinding, advertising and even visual paging. Omnivex software interfaces with existing flight information databases as a content source and as a means of triggering appropriate, location specific content on the screens.
Additionally, Omnivex software can be used to manage interactive facility maps, directional instructions and baggage claim information displays. The software can even automatically update information to be shown in the language appropriate to the current flight schedule. This improves the flow of people throughout the airport, resulting in better passenger satisfaction.
Omnivex recently introduced a new software suite, Moxie, which builds on their years of industry experience. Featuring unprecedented graphics capabilities, enhanced network control and a simplified user interface, Moxie software functions in real-time and automates the process of maintaining accurate, visually captivating displays, while lowering operating costs.
“Streamlining the management of display content on the hundreds of screens that can be in an airport is critical for both airport efficiency and operating costs,” said Jeff Collard, president of Omnivex. “Omnivex software automatically pulls information from an airport’s existing flight information database, then formats that information and displays it on the appropriate screens in the facility. The software allows airport personnel to set business rules, such as if a flight is arriving from Mexico City, Customs information should be displayed in English and Spanish. This type of sophisticated automation allows airports to run more efficiently, with better customer satisfaction.”
Omnivex will be demonstrating its software products at the ACI-NA in booth #219 at the Austin Convention Center, beginning on Sunday October 11.
