SAS: The Process Regarding the Union Negotiations

STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regulatory News:

Due to certain speculations in the Scandinavian media regarding the negotiations between Scandinavian Airlines and its trade unions, SAS (STO:SAS)(OSE:SASNOK) will make the following clarification:

SAS will not comment the negotiations until the management has processed and analyzed the result, and presented it to the SAS Board of Directors.

Background In connection with the presentation of the second quarter result in August 2009 new cost saving measures amounting to SEK 2 billion was launched. This was in addition to the cost saving measures within Core SAS amounting to SEK 4.5 billion, and being implemented ahead of plan.

Within the 2 SEK billion of cost saving measures that was presented in August SEK 1.4 billion shall be achieved through changes in the collective agreements to close the existing cost gap SAS has compared with its competitors.
