Solairus Aviation Lands in Los Angeles
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Solairus Aviation (www.solairusaviation.com) announced today the hiring of Doug Giese into the role of Senior Vice-President, where he will initiate the firm’s business development efforts in the Los Angeles and Southwestern markets.
“After a busy 9 months building an industry-leading team, infrastructure and required management systems, we can now focus on developing Solairus’ brand recognition nationwide. Placing an emphasis on the Southwestern region is a natural step for us given our widely diverse fleet and the market opportunity,” said Solairus CEO Dan Drohan. “Doug is an accomplished aviation professional and he is well-respected both in and outside of our industry. I’m pleased to have him join our team,” Drohan added.
Today’s announcement follows on the heels of the Solairus’ September announcement regarding the opening of an East Coast office. The company quickly established itself as a leader in the next generation of private aviation asset management and aircraft charter services when it received the coveted Platinum rating from the Aviation Research Group/US in August, awarded to less than seven-percent of all US jet charter companies. Today Solairus manages one of the nation’s largest fleets of late-model business jet and turboprop aircraft, serving clients throughout the United States and worldwide.
“Doug is representative of the brightest talent our industry has to offer and is an excellent addition to the growing Solairus team,” said Jake Cartwright, Solairus Vice Chairman. “Aviation is a relationship based business, and the Los Angeles market in particular requires local knowledge and local relationships; Doug is a perfect fit to help develop the Solairus brand and help add to our 40 aircraft fleet.”
Giese joins Solairus after a distinguished career with Hawker-Beechcraft. During his 17 years with the company, Giese’s roles grew to include multiple international and domestic sales positions, including five years as Regional Vice President of Sales for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Since 2000, Giese has managed Hawker’s sales efforts in the Western US, earning multiple awards for outstanding service and performance. Giese attended the American University of Paris and graduated from George Washington University with a BA in International Affairs. He is also an experienced ATP rated pilot with type ratings in multiple business jet/turboprop aircraft.
