MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spain-based Grupo Eulen, a global leader in business services outsourcing, with over $2.3 billion in revenues and 72,000 employees, has completed a major investment in Miami-based American Sales and Management (ASM) aviation services. The investment in ASM represents Grupo Eulen’s initial entrance into the U.S. market as Eulen America, with the goal of capitalizing on market synergies and opportunities in the aviation and commercial sectors.

Grupo Eulen provides outsourcing services to include cleaning, maintenance, security, auxiliary and environmental services for major international companies throughout Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Central/South America and the Caribbean.

ASM provides a full-range of ground handling and passenger services for domestic and foreign carriers, including cabin cleaning and ramp services. Founded in 1994, ASM has over 70 years of combined aviation industry experience among its management team.

The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official economic development partnership, was instrumental in the realization of Eulen America, as the organization had independent, long-standing relationships with both ASM and Grupo Eulen, who was looking for a vehicle through which it would enter the U.S. market.

The newly branded, Miami-based entity, Eulen America, will serve as the regional headquarters for the enterprise’s international division, which until recently was based in Mexico City, Mexico. The new regional headquarters will focus on the expansion of the existing ASM aviation division and introduce outsourcing services in numerous sectors, including Janitorial; Security; Maintenance; Training; and Elderly Care, among others.

Eulen, which has invested $30 million in Miami-Dade County between the acquisition of ASM and other start-up costs, also noted that they will create 500 new jobs.

ASM’s reputation of delivering cost-effective, quality service is recognized within the aviation industry where it currently provides service to most major air carriers.

The company has a workforce of more than 2,200 individuals in this arena, located throughout major airports in the U.S., 1,000 of which work at Miami International Airport (MIA), making ASM one of that facility’s largest sources of employment.

Eulen America has sales of about $300 million from provider services in the region throughout 10 countries in the Americas and the Caribbean, including: Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, Panama, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, and now, the United States.

The acquisition brings both the financial strength and experience – through ASM’s footprint in the U.S. market – that will allow Eulen America to provide cost-effective services to a broad range of industries. Eulen America, through its parent, Grupo Eulen, possesses the resources to develop a large hemispheric network, with future expansion plans in aviation and other sectors.

“Our existing and future customers will greatly benefit from the financial strength, synergies, and broad scope of cost-effective services we offer through Eulen America,” said Joseph Lorenzo, president of the new Eulen America, who along with ASM chairman Jose Lorenzo founded the aviation industry-focused organization. “Even through these challenging economic times, ASM has been able to generate new job opportunities in the communities in which we operate. With the aggregate resources of the new Eulen America, we look forward to furthering those opportunities. We are now providing janitorial and security services to many of our 50 existing aviation customers.”

“We at Grupo Eulen are extremely pleased with our new venture with ASM and are confident that Eulen America’s commitment to quality and its experienced management team will be a strong platform for our U.S. entity,” said Juan Carlos Alvarez, CEO of Grupo Eulen. “Miami is at the literal crossroads of North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, and we view it as the ideal location from which to launch our North American endeavors, while expanding upon our existing operations throughout the region.”

“We congratulate Eulen America on their decision to locate their Americas headquarters in Miami-Dade,” said Frank R. Nero, president & CEO of The Beacon Council. “The announcement shows Eulen America’s confidence in Miami-Dade County’s local economy and business community, and for Miami-Dade’s workforce, as Eulen America looks to create hundreds of jobs, a fact that cannot be overstated.”
