AA Travel Insurance Advise Travellers to Take Out Cover When Booking Christmas Flights
Dépèche transmise le 3 novembre 2009 par PRNewswire
BASILDON, England, November 3 /PRNewswire/ -- AA Travel Insurance is today advising travellers to ensure they take out proper travel cover when booking flights abroad this Christmas.
In the wake of recent airline collapses from the likes of XL Airways, Zoom and Silverjet, British Airways are the latest casualties of the recession currently crippling the airline industry, with news that BA flights may be disrupted in the lead-up to Christmas.
Following a disastrous 12 months where BA has seen GBP401 million of losses to its business, last week negotiations relating to changing working conditions, pay freezes and redundancies of its cabin crew staff broke down, resulting in Unite, the union representing BA's 14,000 cabin crew staff, to call for industrial action.
The results of the ballot of BA cabin crew on possible strike action will be announced on 14th December, potentially paving the way for disruption through the peak travelling period around Christmas.
A spokesperson from AA Travel Insurance said that "in light of the current problems facing the airline industry it is crucial that travellers seeking to fly this winter take out adequate travel insurance to cover themselves in the event of airline failure or serious delays."
AA Travel Insurance include financial failure holiday protection, cancellation cover of up to GBP5,000 per person, as well as 24 hour emergency medical assistance and medical expenses of up to GBP10,000,000 per person, so if you're planning on taking a trip abroad this winter, get cover you can trust from the AA.
