L2 Consulting Services, Inc. Amends B757 Iridium STC to Include Rockwell Collins IRT 2110 and IRT 2120 Model Iridium Transceivers
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--L2 Consulting Services, Inc. (L2) is pleased to announce that it has successfully amended the company’s existing B757 series Iridium Supplemental Type Certificate (ST10938SC), to now include the Rockwell Collins IRT 2110 and IRT 2120 model Iridium transceivers on B757 aircraft. L2 currently holds the first and only STC for installation of the Rockwell Collins Iridium IRT products on air transport aircraft.
L2 President, Mark Lebovitz said, “The certification amendment process went smoothly and we are very pleased that the L2 Iridium STC now approves the Rockwell Collins product.”
The dual-channel IRT 2110 and the tri-channel IRT 2120 are being offered by Rockwell Collins, under a private label agreement with International Communications Group which was announced in May of 2009. The Iridium communications system provides the Flight Crew with a dedicated Datalink channel and both models support Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), Future Air Navigation Systems (FANS) messaging, and Controller Pilot Data Link Communications requirements. L2 currently holds existing Iridium certifications on B737, B757, B767 and B747 aircraft.
