Jet Fuel Operator Q8Aviation Secures Major New Contract at Leeds Bradford
Dépèche transmise le 1 octobre 2010 par PRNewswire
LONDON, October 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Q8Aviation, the largest importer of jet fuel into North-West Europe, has added Leeds Bradford International Airport to its portfolio of UK airports and has already secured a key share of the refuelling business of Jet2.com, the airport's leading airline.
Q8Aviation has also recently begun marketing at Cologne-Bonn, one of Germany's major airports.
Andrew Westmoreland, Managing Director of Q8Aviation, comments: "We are delighted to start serving Leeds Bradford and to secure such a substantial contract at an early stage. This move is part of our strategy of developing a strong network of regional airports across Europe and further afield, which presents great opportunities for further developing our business."
Leeds Bradford is one of the UK's fastest growing regional airports. Significant development of the airport terminal and passenger facilities has resulted in rapid growth; between 1997 and 2007, passenger numbers grew by 88%, much of it attributed to the introduction of scheduled flights by the leading leisure airline Jet2.com.
With the addition of Leeds Bradford, Q8Aviation now has a presence at ten UK airports, including London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Jet fuel is supplied from Avonmouth in south-west England where Q8Aviation has developed a state of the art import facility at the Royal Portbury Dock. This fuel is provided by Q8Aviation's parent company, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, which provides Q8Aviation with its unique and secure well-head to wing tip supply chain.
