Astronics Corporation Selected by Iberia Airlines to Supply EMPOWER® In-Seat Power Systems with USB Power
EAST AURORA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Astronics Corporation (NASDAQ: ATRO), a leader in advanced, high performance lighting, electrical power and automated test systems for the global aerospace and defense industries, today announced that it has been selected by Iberia Airlines, the Spanish flag carrier, to supply its EMPOWER® in-seat power systems for the airline’s economy cabins. Iberia currently utilizes Astronics’ EMPOWER® products in its business class cabins. The first installation will take place in 2011, and the initial program covers the entire economy cabin, or 267 seats, of seven Airbus 340-300 aircraft.

Iberia Airlines is the launch customer for the newest generation of EMPOWER® products that were introduced at the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Conference & Exhibition (formerly the World Airline Entertainment Association) in Long Beach, California in September. The order includes the newest in-seat power supply system which provides up to 200VA per passenger, USB power outputs, and the integrated AC and USB outlet unit.
