Ducommun’s Miltec Unit Achieves CMMI Level 2 Rating
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ducommun Incorporated (NYSE: DCO) today announced that its Miltec Corporation (Miltec) subsidiary achieved a Maturity Level 2 rating during its recent Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) appraisal. CMMI is recognized as the standard for independent benchmarking within the industry for maturity in critical technical and managerial processes.
“This rating affirms our commitment to process improvement at Ducommun”
The Company demonstrated Maturity Level 2 compliance with the CMMI for Development Version 1.2 (Systems, Software and Hardware) and Capability Level 2 compliance with the Requirements Development process area. The appraisal encompassed business and functional support areas, including program management, engineering development, and supplier management, spanning multiple geographic locations for both internal and external customer product development programs.
“This rating affirms our commitment to process improvement at Ducommun,” said Anthony J. Reardon, president and chief executive officer. “Our business processes are the essential tools we use to efficiently develop products for our customers. Using the CMMI model as a benchmark has enabled us to enhance and standardize processes resulting in business systems that tightly integrate quality and productivity into our daily operating activities.”
The independent firm Engineering and Services Performance Improvement LLC led the appraisal using the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPISM) V1.2. The CMMI product suite was developed by government, industry and the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute, a federally funded research and development center, to integrate multiple capability maturity models into a single improvement framework for use by organizations pursuing all-encompassing process improvement.
Miltec Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ducommun Inc., provides system solutions and engineering support to missile and space customers.
