MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Romaine Complex A Renewable Energy Project, a CAD$6.5 billion hydroelectric facility designed by AECOM and located in Havre-Saint-Pierre, Quebec, Canada, is the number-one ranked project on ReNew Canada’s list of the Top 100 Biggest Infrastructure Projects in Canada. AECOM has 26 projects on the annual list, which has measured and tracked infrastructure development in Canada since 2007.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for this top-ranked project, especially given the size and scale of the infrastructure market overall”
“It’s an honor to be recognized for this top-ranked project, especially given the size and scale of the infrastructure market overall,” said Luc Benoit, AECOM’s Global Managing Director, Energy. Another AECOM-designed hydro project, the Eastmain-1-A/Sarcelle/Rupert Project, in James Bay Territory, Quebec, is ranked as number three on the list.
The total construction value of AECOM’s projects represents more than one-third of Canada’s $96 billion infrastructure investment market for 2011, according to ReNew Canada. AECOM’s featured projects include work from the company’s three regions and all of the business lines active in Canada.
AECOM achieved the top ranking project in the following industry categories: Transit (Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project, Toronto, Ontario); Transportation (Turcot Interchange, Montreal, Quebec); Energy (Romaine Complex A Renewable Energy Project, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Quebec); Environment (Red River Floodway Expansion, Winnipeg, Manitoba); Public Buildings (RCMP E Division Headquarter Relocation, Surrey, British Columbia); and Health Care (University of Montreal Hospital Centre Redevelopment, Montreal, Quebec).
