C3 Releases Unlimited Oblique Aerial Images for Mobile, Social Apps
BARCELONA, Spain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--C3 Technologies, the leading provider of 3D mapping solutions, today announced that its new high-resolution oblique aerial image library of more than 100 cities worldwide, is now available for licensing.
“Don’t waste your time. Do your apps right the first time, and let people experience the world as it really is.”
C3’s detailed oblique images allow users to see the sides of buildings and other objects, making it easy to recognize an address or a point of interest on a 3D map.
“When your iPhone, iPad or Android app is built on a 3D map you want to be confident everything the users sees, including buildings, structures or land features, is just as life-like and identifiable on the screen as it is in the real world,” said Mattias Åström, C3 Technologies CEO. “Don’t waste your time. Do your apps right the first time, and let people experience the world as it really is.”
By using the new C3 Unlimited Oblique imaging solution, developers of mobile, social applications for the fist time can provide infinite panning across maps because they are built on an endless matrix. In addition, C3 Unlimited Oblique offers 10-centimeter accuracy in every position, making it possible to accurately overlay roads, addresses, points of interest, company logos or advertisements.
Unlike most other commercial or even government-targeted oblique solutions on the market, which capture and process images of a geographic area from just four different views, all of the maps in C3’s new line offer 24 different oblique views, which means more crucial data is available for simulation, planning and precise measurement of distances, heights, perimeters, lengths, and widths.
C3 produces its oblique maps from many original photographs, so it can deliver images always in a North-South or East-West direction independent of the original flight directions, oblique images from unlimited directions, and oblique images in any vertical angle from 0 to 45 degrees.
And, because C3 also produces ortho images (90 degrees from above) and its photo-realistic 3D City Models from the same original data, the new C3 Unlimited Oblique solution can be used independently, or in combination with other C3 offerings including Street Views, to create a seamless user experience.
