Hitachi Consulting Brings New Program Capture and Program Management Tools to the Aerospace and Defense Industry
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Practice of Hitachi Consulting, a leading provider of IT consulting and management consulting services and solutions, has developed two new solutions designed specifically to address the Aerospace and Defense industry’s need for Program Capture and Program Management tools. Whether trying to capture a program and dealing with complicated government procurement requirements, or trying to manage and closely track program execution under customer scrutiny, these solutions help improve the ability to oversee these programs. A free demo highlighting the capabilities of these program solutions, based on Microsoft® SharePoint® 2010, is now available.
“Hitachi Consulting’s program management solution allows for easier collaboration among the groups working on a particular program”
Program Capture Solution
As the government's procurement requirements become more complicated and their audit criteria more austere, many companies are finding their program capture processes and tools to be severely deficient. Major aerospace manufacturing and defense companies have discovered the need for common tools and processes to help them provide more accurate proposals in a truly collaborative manner. Additionally, as the allocation of funding constricts and the response time associated with IDIQ task orders decreases, A&D companies are finding their proposal response time taking on a greater importance.
“Hitachi Consulting has been developing a range of program capture solutions for the A&D industry over the last decade,” said Dave McGlone, Sr. Vice President, A&D Practice, Hitachi Consulting. “We have developed a program capture framework that enables organizations to elevate their ability to pursue, bid, and capture business.”
Many Aerospace & Defense companies have implemented enterprise applications to consolidate and optimize their organizations. Since the core business development and program capture functions fall outside the normal ERP footprint, many organizations are still pursuing new business using outdated and disjointed processes and tools. The Microsoft SharePoint program capture solution can show companies how to put an end to that.
“Once you view our solution framework demo, it quickly becomes apparent that there is a better answer to today’s clunky methodology and tools,” said McGlone.
Program Management Solution
On the other side of the fence is the program management solution. As a result of customer pressure to more closely track and report on program health information, A&D organizations have an increasing need to more quickly and accurately track program status, enable timely decision making, reduce manual reporting efforts, and ensure common program analysis procedures and metrics. Many A&D companies struggle with the ability to meet this need based on a variety of process- and infrastructure-related issues, including data housed in disparate applications.
“Hitachi Consulting’s program management solution allows for easier collaboration among the groups working on a particular program,” McGlone said. “In addition, the ability for someone from the program management team to be able to track and analyze the program health data surfaced by our tool as well as share it with the involved individuals is greatly enhanced.”
