Phoenix International’s Andy Wang Promoted to President
WOOD DALE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Phoenix International Freight Services, Limited is pleased to announce the promotion of one of its principals, Andy Wang, from managing director to president.
“Andy has been one of the driving forces behind the growth and success of our organization since 1995”
Founder and executive chairman Bill McInerney explains, “We have an awesome organization in Asia; an organization that is the envy of many of our competitors. These things do not happen easily or largely by luck. It has taken years of nurturing an ever growing and more capable management team to achieve our current level of success. Andy’s leadership in that process over the past 15 years culminates today with his elevation to president of the company.”
Phoenix’s CEO Stephane Rambaud applauded Wang’s success in a congratulatory email to the employees, saying; “Andy’s contribution has significantly impacted the company over the years, and I look forward to that trend continuing.”
“Andy has been one of the driving forces behind the growth and success of our organization since 1995,” said McInerney.
Upon receiving his well-deserved promotion, President Wang was quick to share credit with his entire team in Asia; “Without their dedication and teamwork, none of this would have been possible.”
Born in Taiwan, Wang earned a bachelor’s of science degree in statistics from Kean University in New Jersey, and a master’s of science in computer science from the New York Institute of Technology. After graduating in 1986, Wang returned to Taiwan to begin his career in freight forwarding.
Beginning in 1995, Wang and the principals of Phoenix International in the USA formulated a series of joint venture companies in Asia. Over the next seven years this network grew to include twenty locations along the Pacific Rim and increased sales from $40 million to $300 million. In 2002 the company started the process to transform the network into the single global corporation it has become today; headquartered in Wood Dale, Illinois, USA.
Currently, Phoenix International is the largest privately owned international freight forwarding company based in North America. Its NVOCC and forwarding operations employ more than 2,000 people in 75 locations around the world. The company’s fiscal year 2011 sales are expected to exceed nine hundred million dollars. In addition to being named one of the Top Workplaces, Phoenix’s accolades also include rankings in fastest growing, healthiest, largest privately-owned and top logistics company lists.
